The Business Segment Functional Binders offers a wide range of custom-tailored specialty polymers under the DEGALAN^® and DEGACRYL^® trademarks.

The most important applications are:

Heat-seal lacquers based on our DEGALAN^® products are mainly used for packaging in the food industry (dairy products) and the pharmaceutical industry (push-through-packaging for pharmazeuticals). DEGALAN^® PM 555 and DEGALAN^® PM 666, for instance, are universal products for sealing aluminum or PET films versus polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride and polypropylene containers.

We cooperate closely with our customers to develop new products for innovative packaging systems.

The product group of High Performance Beads comprises special bead polymers that are employed in different market segments. DEGACRYL^® products, for example, offer convincing performance in dentures due to their ease of handling, neutral taste and colorfastness. The use of durable porous plastic molds in the ceramics industry in place of plaster molds is another innovative solution enabled by DEGACRYL^® products.

Our DEGALAN^® UC methacrylic powders for plastisols are further innovative and environmentally friendly products. Owing to their range of properties, they are excellently suited for applications in the automotive industry (e.g. underbody coating, sealants and soundproofing) and may be employed instead of PVC powders.
