DEGALAN® for an attractive décor

With its DEGALAN^® products, Evonik offers thermoplastic methacrylic resins for the coatings industry. In the field of ceramic transfer lacquers, the DEGALAN^® products ensure optimum cohesion of the décor with tiles, glasses and crockery, and guarantee residue-free depolymerization and high pigmentability. This provides an attractive décor that can withstand permanent everyday wear and tear.

Ceramic transfer lacquers serve as carriers for inorganic pigments and glass powder. The transfer coatings are stuck onto ceramic parts (tiles, glasses, crockery) and the film is depolymerized during firing of the ceramic parts, at temperatures up to 1200 °C. The inorganic pigments are then melted onto the substrate by the melting glass powder and are united with the substrate in the glazing process. DEGALAN^® ensures an ideal union.
