Very good weathering properties, outstanding UV protection and better yield as compared with traditional binders are the salient properties of thermoplastic methacrylic resins from Evonik.

Ships and ship superstructures as well as containers are coated with several layers. After a corrosion protection primer has been applied, one or two intermediate layers and a top coat are applied. The paints for the intermediate layer and top coat are formulated with resins from Evonik, which provide the required weather protection.

Beyond this, Evonik also has an approval number for selected products among paint manufacturers in this sector. These globally operating paint manufacturers have approved DEGALAN^® products from Evonik for all their production sites.
