DEGALAN® in all Winds and Weathers

Depending on the manufacturing process, methacrylic resins in solution or solid form are used for metal coatings. The specific selection of the monomers that are the chemical building blocks of polymers make it possible to manufacture methacrylic resins with a wide variety of properties. As compared with resins of different chemical composition, these are characterized by excellent weather resistance and lightfastness (UB stability). The films are therefore clear-transparent and show no yellowing.

Various DEGALAN^® grades are found in diverse applications. These include acrylic polymers for metal coating, thick-layer DIY coatings, non-ferrous metal coating and zinc substrates. As a binder in car refinishing paints, DEGALAN^® still shows excellent adhesion and elasticity even after many years of weathering. The designated polymers are also suitable for spray application.
